Skripi (C station of the Kanin cable car), 1639 m

Walking time: approximately 2–3 hours (total 8 kilometers and 600 meters of elevation gain ).

Suitable for children: Suitable for children who are used to walking uphill, aged 5 and up. Also suitable for children in a baby carrier or backpack. The path is a wide gravel road the entire time.

Starting point
You drive towards the B station of the Kanin cable car (dirt road) and then a few bends higher. We usually park at the bend where the dirt road branches off to the left towards Gozdec, which leads to Kopa or along the marked path to Kanin. The exact location is here . I recommend parking there and walking further, but there is some space for a car or two higher up.

Route description

From the parking lot, head right along the gravel road. After 600 meters, you will come to a fork, where on the left you will see a wide gravel path, which was prepared for the needs of the Kanin cable car. Here, turn left and continue climbing.

The path is not marked, but it is a wide and clearly visible mountain road, which is visible even when snow falls, so you should not have any problems with orientation. There are about 20 bends to the top. Along the way, there are beautiful views of Bovec and the Soča Valley at several points.

You will walk to Skripija in about an hour and a half, overcoming 600 meters of elevation gain on a 4-kilometer-long trail. The climb is easy and undemanding, and the trail is extremely popular even in winter, especially among ski touring enthusiasts.

At the "top" is the C station of the Kanin cable car, known as the Skripi station. In the good old days of the Kanin ski resort, we used to ski up to here. You return to the valley along the same route.
