It's time for statistics!
We have completed a 23-day trip to Greece . We covered almost exactly 5,000 kilometers and traveled by car and a roof tent. You can read more about our experiences traveling in a roof tent here . We combined sleeping in the wild and in campsites, as well as two nights in an apartment. As for food, we ate out on average once a day, mainly in affordable fast food restaurants ( gyros, souvlaki, kalamaki , Greek salad, etc.), the rest we cooked ourselves. I had already brought a lot of food from home (pasta, salami, homemade salsa , sausages, eggs).
We visited quite a few interesting spots, most archaeological sites have an entrance fee (usually €12 per person, children free).
We didn't skimp, but we didn't spend too much either. Something we never regret spending money on are attractions, entrance fees, and various activities.
Travel expenses
We spent €2,340 (rounded) for the entire trip. By categories:
- transportation (petrol and tolls) : €752.79
-
food : €722.30
Of which, food outside (restaurants): €392.30 + from the store: €330 -
accommodation : €450
Of which 12x in the camp (prices per night ranged between 38 and 20 € + 8x in the wild + 2x in the apartment - entrance fees and activities : €230
- other costs (souvenirs, medicines, drinks): approx. €150
The average daily spending for a family of four was € 101.73 .
