Today is Thursday. We set off on Saturday morning. If all goes well. We are excitedly preparing for 21 days of exploring, enjoying unknown places and tasting the rich Greek culture. Preparations are in full swing, clothes are ready, food is already in plastic boxes, the kitchen is already assembled in the car. Today, if the weather allows, we will put a tent on the roof. But it is all quite stressful. This is the first time we are going on a trip longer than two weeks with the children. A trip that will not be the most comfortable. But it will be wild, in contact with nature, more adventurous.
Transitional packaging
We have 21 days of diverse experiences ahead of us, so we need to make sure we are prepared for all weather conditions. We are preparing for warm sunny days and cool nights, so we are packing both light summer clothes and some warm clothes for possible colder days. We are hoping for as much sun as possible. The trip will of course include some hills, some history and Greek sights, and also the beach.
Rooftop tent and camping
We will be traveling with a roof tent, which will provide us with shelter in campsites and even on a secluded beach. In Greece, you can also sleep wildly .
Food
During the trip, we will also indulge in the authentic flavors of Greece, but we will most likely prepare most of the meals ourselves. Pasta in 1001 ways. And homemade sausages from Nonot. We are also counting on fresh local ingredients (I'm hoping for tomatoes and strawberries!).
Budget
We always travel on a budget. Cheap. This time too. Our budget is a maximum of €2500. If we manage to do it... Who knows, stay tuned.
Route plan
My husband and I have made a rough list and itinerary. How many days we will stay where, how we will manage our time, and we are just letting life flow on the road. I think we put together a classic Greek tour : the mainland (without Athens), the Peloponnese, and two islands (Lefkada and Elafonisos). On the way back home, there are also Budva, Kotor and Dubrovnik.
- Belgrade, Serbia
- Mount Olympus (not to the top)
- Meteora
- Delphi
- Parnitha Mountain
- Corinth
- Mycenae
- Monemvasia
- Elafonisos
- Polylimnio Waterfalls
- Methoni Castle
- Voidokilia
- Olympia
- Kalavryta
- Lefkada
- Vikos Gorge
- Budva
- Kotor
- Dubrovnik
- Makarska
We are already full of anticipation and can't wait to get going. Follow us on our adventure through Greece on social media, where I will share moments from our journey.
Until then,
N🌍
