Unwinding on Gialova Beach
After exploring Messinia, we treated ourselves to two days of total relaxation at Golden Beach, also known as Gialova Beach. We enjoyed the simple joys of life by the sea, where we were able to completely relax our minds and bodies.
Walk to Old Navarino Castle
One of the highlights of our stay in Gialova was the walk to the Old Navarino Castle. This easy route took us along a very popular and well-trodden path that starts at the very end of Gialova beach. The view from the old castle was absolutely amazing – we saw the beautiful Voidokilia beach and the entire surrounding area, which completely captivated us. We walked (carefully!) through the remains of the castle.
Enjoying the sandy beach
We spent two days on the shallow and sandy beach of Gialova. We built castles (Urbanovasio and Klarino), read, lay down and surrendered to the sun and truly rested. Although there are quite a few campsites nearby, we decided to sleep in the wild, which gave us an even greater sense of freedom and connection with nature.
These days were a real balm for the soul and body. Rested, we were able to move on more easily, on a very special adventure. Our last one in the Peloponnese.
